On Thursday 26th January 2012 unknown gunmen in Syria kidnapped 11 Iranian pilgrims as they travelled on a bus from Turkey to the Syrian capital, Damascus. The gunmen stopped and stormed the bus, which was carrying 49 Iranian passengers, and abducted 11 men leaving the remaining people on the bus to continue with their journey.
